Kelly Wakefield joined Preferred Compliance Solutions in 2005. Starting as a Compliance Specialist, she was instrumental to the idea and development of tools and procedures that allowed Preferred to pioneer reviewing files paperless. Spearheading the 2020 release of the NextGen eFile system, as well as the Rent and Income Calculator, her ability to stay ahead of industry trends led to her current position as Executive Vice President.
Kelly has been nationally recognized by the National Association of Home Builders as a Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP) and oversees our training division that distributes the exam. Her gregarious, yet detail-oriented personality has made her a perfect fit for assisting lenders, syndicators and developers of the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) industry all over the United States.
Kelly has developed interactive online LIHTC training and assisted multiple companies in designing compliance programs to ensure compliance and protect tax credits. Staying involved in the industry as a trainer, speaker at conferences and on panels by taking complex topics and reducing them easily understood concepts is a priority for Kelly. Picturing that leasing consultant that was just hired with no experience and very little training, or that applicant that is homeless, living in a car is a motivating factor for Kelly to advocate for affordable housing.
